At the close of New York trading, the euro was worth $1.1631, up from $1.1604 the previous day; the pound sterling was worth $1.3442, up from $1.3397. The dollar was worth 158.84 yen, down from 159.06 yen; 0.7868 Swiss francs, down from 0.7892 Swiss francs; 1.3749 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3750 Canadian dollars; and 9.3324 Swedish krona, down from 9.4055 Swedish krona.
