Sky News Arabia sources said negotiations in Tehran reached an understanding on
the broad outlines of Iran’s nuclear file, including a principles declaration
covering ending the war, resolving the Strait of Hormuz issue and linking
gradual uranium transfers to sanctions relief. Iran is also seeking U.S.
guarantees, with formal talks potentially moving to a 30-day phase if approved.
However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson later signaled a more cautious
stance, saying differences between Iran and the United States remain “deep and
significant,” that negotiations are currently focused on ending the war, and
that “we cannot necessarily say that we have reached a point where an agreement
is close.” The spokesperson also said nuclear details are “not being discussed.
at this stage.”
