GMS said it has received the first US permits allowing the purchase and
scrapping of vessels previously sanctioned over Iran-related activities. The
licenses, issued in April, authorize the recycling of four container ships:
Yogi, Timon, Rantanplan and Bigli, according to GMS chief executive Anil Sharma.
The vessels were listed in a US Treasury notice last July as part of enforcement
action targeting the fleet linked to Hossein Shamkhani.
