U.S. Southern Command: On May 26, the U.S. Joint Task Force "Southern Spear" conducted a deadly strike against a vessel operated by a designated terrorist organization. Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was sailing along a known drug smuggling route in the Eastern Pacific and was involved in drug trafficking activities. In the operation, one drug trafficker terrorist was killed, and two others survived. Following the engagement, Southern Command immediately notified the U.S. Coast Guard to activate its survivor search and rescue system. No U.S. military personnel were injured.
