At the close of the morning session, China’s domestic futures are most-active
contracts were mixed: Shanghai silver (SHFE) fell more than 4%, platinum fell
nearly 4%, palladium fell over 3% and Shanghai gold fell nearly 3%; urea,
Shanghai aluminum, Shanghai nickel and Shanghai tin each lost more than 1%. On
the upside, PTA gained nearly 3%; p-xylene, coke, short fiber and coking coal
rose more than 2%; bottle-grade PET chips, PVC and rapeseed oil rose nearly 2%.
