On May 26 in Beijing, MOFCOM minister Wang Wentao met Pakistan’s commerce
minister Kamal, who is accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz on his visit to
China. The two sides exchanged views on deepening China‑Pakistan economic and
trade ties and related issues. Wang said Prime Minister Shehbaz’s visit
coincides with the 75th anniversary of China‑Pakistan diplomatic relations, and
that leaders from both countries reached a series of important consensuses
providing strategic guidance for the development of bilateral economic and trade
relations. China is willing to work with Pakistan to implement those
leader‑level consensuses, advance bilateral economic and trade ties to a new
stage, and contribute to building a closer China‑Pakistan community with a
shared future in the new era.
