May 28 — At a routine briefing, MAO / CHINA was asked, citing a YONHAP question,
about the U.S.-Japan-India-Australia Quad’s recent call for N. KOREA
denuclearization after a N. KOREA foreign ministry spokesperson said today it
would absolutely not give up nuclear weapons. MAO / CHINA said China has
repeatedly set out its position on the Quad, opposes exclusive “small cliques”
and bloc confrontation, and that China’s stance and policy on the Korean
Peninsula remains continuous and stable.
