May 28 — At a regular press briefing, MAO / CHINA said the Chinese Embassy in
the U.S. reposted preliminary outcomes of US-China economic and trade
consultations, responding to an RT question about why Beijing had decided to
activate export controls on rare-earth metals earlier than a bilateral agreement
that suspended such measures until Nov. 10, 2026. MAO / CHINA said, “To my
understanding, the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. reposted the preliminary results
of US-China economic and trade consultations. Both sides should jointly
implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and maintain
the stable development of US-China economic and trade relations.”
