The Justice Department filed suit on Thursday against Maine, Massachusetts,
Oregon and Washington, accusing the Democratic-led states of refusing to issue
undercover license plates to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement while
Historically issuing them to other law enforcement agencies. DOJ said the states
declined to rescind policies and to allow ICE access to such plates for arrest
operations tied to President Trump’s intensified immigration enforcement
efforts.
