depends on whether the U.S. and Iran can reach a potential agreement
President Trump supports it. U.S. media earlier cited officials saying
negotiating teams have broadly agreed on terms of a memorandum of understanding,
subject to Trump’s final approval. Bessent declined repeated direct answers,
saying teams have been exchanging consultations and “everything depends on what
the president wants to do.” He listed Trump’s red lines: Iran must hand over its
highly enriched uranium, must not develop nuclear weapons, and the Strait of
Hormuz must remain open.
