China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said at a May 29 press briefing it firmly opposes the EU draft cybersecurity law’s proposal to introduce “non-technical risk” factors that link companies of specific national origin to cybersecurity risk and exclude them from critical infrastructure supply chains. CCPIT urged EU legislators to seek business and industry association input, keep rules technology-neutral and risk-based, delete or substantially amend country-targeted discriminatory provisions, and carefully assess impacts on China‑EU commercial ties, EU industry development and global supply-chain stability.
