May 29 — ISO has approved and published China-led revisions to the international
payment messaging standard: ISO 20022-5:2026 (Conceptual interoperability and
reverse engineering) and ISO 20022-7:2026 (Registration). The updates, developed
with input from experts across 17 countries and six international financial
institutions (over 50 experts), are intended to improve financial services
efficiency and facilitate cross-border transactions, providing technical support
for a more open international financial system.
