May 29 — At a regular briefing CHINA noted reports that on May 28 President
Trump designated two criminal organizations in Brazil as terrorist groups.
Brazil protested, calling the move interference in its domestic affairs. US
Secretary of State Rubio said the US is committed to dismantling the groups,
which have long been targets of Brazilian law enforcement. CHINA reiterated its
longstanding principle of non‑interference in other countries’ internal affairs.
