On May 28 Minister Li Lecheng chaired a MIIT reform steering-group meeting to review 2025 reform delivery and set 2026 priorities. The ministry urged swift implementation of central reform tasks and key measures from the Third Plenum decision and Fourth Plenum directives, stressing equal emphasis on policy support and reform-driven innovation and anchoring actions on achieving new-type industrialization. Priority reforms cited: maintain a reasonable share for manufacturing; deepening integration of technological and industrial innovation; accelerate convergence of informatization and industrialization; and promote development and scaling of specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative SMEs.
