On April 29 the U.S. Treasury said it added multiple Iran-linked individuals and
entities to its sanctions list as part of "Operation Economic Fury" to step up
economic pressure on Tehran. The Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control,
coordinating with the Commerce Department and the FBI’s Los Angeles office,
targeted an Iran-based procurement network accused of "using false identities
and defrauding U.S. firms" to procure goods for Iran’s Ministry of Defense and
armed forces; OFAC named eight individuals and five entities in the action.
