In Ottawa on the 29th (local time), Canada's Prime Minister Carney met China's
foreign minister. The China foreign minister conveyed greetings from Chinese
leadership, said Carney's visit to China was successful and that bilateral ties
have been reset sides and are back on track. Both agreed to build a new-type
strategic partnership to guide bilateral development; China said the turnaround
serves both countries' interests, that there are no fundamental conflicts and
significant room for cooperation. China expressed willingness to respect Canada,
seek common ground while reserving differences, strengthen communication and
deepen cooperation to promote healthy, stable and sustainable bilateral relations
relations. Both parties pledged to uphold multilateralism, international law and
strategic autonomy, and to support free trade and an open global economy.
