Euroclear has appealed to the Moscow arbitration court against a ruling ordering
immediate compensation to the Russian central bank, sources said. A
first-instance judgment on May 15 ordered Euroclear to pay about €200 billion to
the Russian central bank to compensate for losses from frozen assets; on May 26
the court granted Russia's request to make the judgment immediately enforceable.
