MIIT Minister Li Lecheng said the ministry will accelerate frontier technology breakthroughs and upstream supply for future industries, leveraging a new national coordination model and an 'industry-sets-the-problem, science-provides-the-answer' approach. MIIT will prioritize original, leading R&D to secure key core technology breakthroughs; continue deploying open‑challenge problem‑solving tasks to tackle critical bottleneck technologies; form deep industry–university–research–application innovation consortia by integrating universities, research institutes and leading firms; build proof‑of‑concept centers and pilot production platforms to scale lab results to production; and run large‑scale demonstration deployments to speed commercialization and align innovation and industrial chains.
