At about 10:32 local time on June 1, a gas room linking two production bays at
SK Hynix’s fourth campus in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, caught fire.
Automatic sprinklers activated and the blaze was brought under control, but a
Fluorine gas leak injured seven people who were sent to hospital. SK Hynix
Evacuated about 3,600 staff. Residual gas was cleared by about 13:38 local time,
all buildings were reopened and the company declared the incident closed. SK
Hynix said plant production equipment was not affected and production would not
be interrupted; the company is investigating the cause.
