Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, at a routine briefing, criticized remarks
by Japan’s defense minister at the Shangri‑La Dialogue, saying Japan’s wartime
militarism committed grave crimes in WWII and that Tokyo’s recent string of
erroneous words and actions threaten regional peace and stability. He said the
international community must be highly vigilant and jointly prevent and
resolutely contain "new militarism".
