China said it has completed its May rotating presidency of the UN Security Council Council. Foreign Minister Wang Yi chaired a high‑level open debate at UN headquarters in New York, set out five proposals to restore the authority of the UN Charter and strengthen UN roles, and attended a Friends of Global Governance meeting where he proposed nine priority reform directions. Under China’s President the Security Council reviewed hotspots including Israel‑Palestine, Iran and Ukraine and discussed protection of civilians, completing its scheduled agenda.
