Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian said at a regular briefing the
New York Times provided a platform for Taiwan authorities to spread "Taiwan
independence" separatist claims and openly referred to China's Taiwan region as
a "country," a serious violation of the One‑China principle. China firmly
opposes this and says the New York Times should correct the error.
