Chengdu municipal party committee and government issued guidance to accelerate
building a national advanced manufacturing base, pledging to develop a portfolio
of flagship products. The plan advances Chengdu as a demonstration city for the
national consumer-goods "three-product" strategy, targeting green food, digital
cultural & creative goods and smart home to cultivate branded and hit consumers
items. It will implement a Manufacturing Excellence Quality Program to develop
future chips, high-end screens, smart vehicles, innovative drugs and aircraft,
and a Basic Capability Upgrade Program focused on core machine tools, advanced
materials and industrial software, with support for first-of-a-kind equipment,
initial batch materials and first-release software products.
