The National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) said the special remediation of "AI-altered" videos launched in January 2026 has been effective and, from Feb. 1, is being continued under a normalized, institutionalized long‑term mechanism. The NRTA instructed major online audiovisual platforms to deepen implementation of platform responsibilities and strengthen daily screening, prioritizing removal of illegal AI-altered material derived from the Four Great Classical Novels, historical and revolutionary subjects, and heroic figures, and to clear various cult animations. Several major platforms reported May results: they removed more than 8,000 illegal videos and took action against over 20 violating accounts.
