Shenzhen’s new Huanggang cross‑border checkpoint is scheduled to open on July 1. Hong Kong security secretary Tang Ping‑keung said the joint inspection building is largely complete and internal air‑conditioning, equipment and clearance systems are being installed and tested; some works have passed final inspection. The project reached a key construction milestone in early May when the last steel box girders were delivered and main assembly finished, and the crossing is expected to allow clearance in as little as five minutes.
