President Kast used his first state-of-the-nation to prioritize tougher
immigration controls and accelerated deportations, saying the government will
submit legislation to create an institutional framework and a registry for
serious offenders. On the economy he set an annual growth target of 4%, said he
will aim for fiscal balance by 2030, targets a 6% unemployment rate and plans to
create at least 300,000 jobs.
