According to data from the Financial Supervisory Service and the Securities Depository of Korea, in the year ending in April, South Korean companies issued a total of 741.4 trillion won (approximately US$488.4 billion) in short-term bonds and commercial paper, a year-on-year increase of 47.1%. Domestic corporate bond issuance declined by 34.1% year-on-year.
