French foreign minister Barro said in an interview on the 2nd that Israeli
military actions inside Lebanon "have no justification." He added Israel has a
right to self-defence against HEZBOLLAH attacks, but its operations and
continued presence inside Lebanon are unjustified. France called on HEZBOLLAH to
stop strikes on Israel and urged Israel to cease strikes on Lebanon. French
sources said the 2026 European International Defense Exhibition will be held
mid-June in the Paris suburbs and France will bar displays of Israeli-made
offensive weapons; Barro said the position is "consistent" and any Israeli
equipment exhibited must be defensive.
