At the close of trading in New York, the euro was worth $1.1628, down from $1.1631 the previous day; the pound sterling was worth $1.3469, up from $1.3458. The dollar was worth 159.91 yen, up from 159.76 yen; 0.7873 Swiss francs, up from 0.7864 Swiss francs; 1.3832 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3842 Canadian dollars; and 9.3155 Swedish krona, up from 9.3059 Swedish krona.
