DHS Secretary Ma Lin said the department has discretionary authority to reduce
or waive the newly established $100,000 H‑1B fee in certain cases, potentially

administration's broader tightening. He also indicated support for simplifying
re‑entry procedures for H‑2B seasonal foreign workers, a temporary labor source
for hospitality, tourism, seafood processing, landscaping and construction
sectors.
