The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said Fujian coast guard units recently
conducted lawful law-enforcement patrols near Kinmen. Responding to Taiwan
coastguard claims the action sought to create a false appearance of
jurisdiction, the office said cross‑strait waters fall under one China and
mainland patrols to maintain maritime order and protect fishermen are normal
duties.
