Kioxia president Hiroo Ota said at an earnings briefing on the 2nd the company has begun evaluating construction of a new fab at its Kitakami site, targeting production after 2029–30 to expand NAND capacity amid strong market demand. Kioxia’s NAND flash is produced at Yokkaichi and Kitakami; Kitakami currently houses two fabs.
