The UN General Assembly elected Austria, Portugal, Trinidad and Tobago and Zimbabwe as non‑permanent members of the UN Security Council; one seat remains to be decided in a second ballot between the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan. Germany failed to win a 2027–28 non‑permanent seat. Terms for the newly elected members runs Jan. 1, 2027–Dec. 31, 2028.
