The move builds on WTO commitments, free-trade zone and service‑opening policies and seeks to align Chinese telecom rules with high‑standard international trade norms.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said Jan–Apr revenue for enterprises above designated size in the electronic information manufacturing sector was 5.88 trillion yuan, up 15.7% YoY; operating costs were 5.03 trillion yuan, up 12.7% YoY; total profit was 316.5 billion yuan, up 108% YoY. April revenue was 1.57 trillion yuan, up 18.3% YoY. Fixed-asset investment in the sector rose 5.4% YoY in Jan–Apr, unchanged from Q1 and 2.9 percentage points above the pace of overall industrial investment.
