After a State Department statement on a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon,
Israeli ambassador to the US Yeshay Leit said US-brokered talks are "another
important step" toward an Israel-Lebanon peace process but stressed any deal
hinges on the end of Hezbollah. He warned "if Hezbollah thinks this outcome will
grant them immunity, they are wrong," and said the ceasefire depends on "a full
halt to hostilities against Israel and the complete dismantling of Hezbollah and
its terrorist infrastructure."
