China’s Foreign Ministry said it expects Germany to adhere to the One-China
principle after reports that German MPs visited Taiwan in May. Spokeswoman Mao
Ning said One-China is international consensus and the political basis of
Sino-German ties, urged Berlin not to use the Taiwan issue to interfere in
China’s internal affairs, and warned that crossing China’s red line on Taiwan
would exact a price.
