Summer is a key foreign-exchange season for Southeast Asian tourism, but
operators warn the peak may be weaker after a sharp fuel-price jump linked to
Middle East tensions and other factors. Thailand tourism ministry: inbound
arrivals in April fell 7% YoY; European arrivals down about 16% and Middle
Eastern arrivals down 57% YoY. Cambodia (Siem Reap) tourism department: combined
international and domestic visitors fell 37.5% YoY in the first four months of
the year.
