The Baltic Dry Index fell for a fifth consecutive session on Thursday as
capesize and panamax rates weakened. The BDI slid 87 points, or 2.78%, to 3,037.
The capesize index dropped 213 points, or 4.05%, to 5,040; capesize daily
Earnings fell $1,934 to $42,204. The panamax index fell 36 points to 2,254;
panamax daily earnings declined $322 to $20,285. The supramax index rose 1 point
to 1,584.
