The Central State Organs Housing Fund Management Center issued a notice
expanding allowable uses of the housing provident fund, prioritizing withdrawals
for purchases of first ordinary homes and second upgraded homes. Buyers of a
third or additional property may also apply to withdraw. Purchases of
owner-occupied housing in an individual's home province (outside Beijing) are
eligible. From June 5, 2026, amounts withdrawn for rent can be consolidated into
housing provident fund account balances when applying for provident-fund
personal housing loans.
