CHINA'S LI met Lao People's Revolutionary Party general secretary and president
Thongloun in Beijing. Li said China will deepen strategic alignment with Laos,
fully leverage its zero-tariff policy to boost bilateral trade, deepen
China-Laos railway cooperation and accelerate construction of the China‑Laos
economic corridor. Beijing seeks expanded cooperation in energy and minerals,
artificial intelligence and the digital economy, will import more Laotian
products and encourage Chinese investment in Laos while expecting Laos to
improve the business environment. Li said China and Laos should closely
coordinate to defend the rules-based multilateral trading system and safeguard
free trade amid current shocks to the international trade order.
