JP Morgan appointed Rajat Gupta head auto analyst and raised his Tesla price
target to $475, upgrading the stock to Hold in a Friday research note. His
predecessor, Ryan Brinkman, had recommended selling the shares since 2015 and
projected a year‑end target of $145. Gupta, who previously worked under
Brinkman, said Tesla’s “unique vertical integration advantage” remains
“underestimated and misunderstood.”
