Hamas said its leadership delegation arrived in Cairo on the 5th and will begin talks with mediators from the 6th on practical implementation of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The delegation, led by senior official Khalil al‑Hayya, is expected to meet Egyptian officials and mediators over several days to seek implementation of the phase‑one ceasefire agreement, halt Israeli attacks on Gaza and establish mechanisms to move to a phase‑two truce. The delegation will also meet Palestinian factions to present a unified national position and seek consensus on responding to challenges facing the Palestinian people.
