An adviser to Iran's supreme leader told CNN that Iran and Oman have sovereignty
over the Strait of Hormuz and will jointly manage the waterway, which previously
handled about one-fifth of global oil and LNG shipments. He resisted calling
proposed charges 'transit fees', saying Iran would impose maintenance fees to
cover management costs rather than bear them alone.
