June 5 — Market reports say Xpeng senior director of robot product planning Shi
Xiaoxin formally left in early June. Shi, who served 1,675 days, led the
build-out of Xpeng’s humanoid product system and oversaw Pengxing Intelligent’s
integration, team transfer into Xpeng Group and the Iron humanoid robot’s move
from prototype to mass-production preparation. The departure has raised market
concern over Iron’s mass-production timeline. An Xpeng insider said, “not sure
(Shi) about the situation, our progress is going smoothly."
