Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on the 6th it struck a Lebanese Armed Forces
(LAF) vehicle in southern Lebanon and is investigating. The IDF said it detected
a "suspicious vehicle" approaching its troops in the Taibnit area, which it
described as an "active combat zone," and had intelligence Hezbollah planned to
fire from that area. Citing that intelligence and a perceived threat to
soldiers, the IDF struck the vehicle. Preliminary checks found two LAF officers
and one soldier inside; the investigation is ongoing. The IDF said its
operational target was Hezbollah, not the Lebanese army.
