MOHURD told a State Council briefing on June 8 that China’s urban underground pipeline network totals about 3.9 mln km, with roughly 7,700 km of underground utility corridors completed. During the 15th Five‑Year Plan period the ministry said it will build or renovate about 770,000 km of urban underground pipelines – including ~200,000 km of gas, ~175,000 km of drainage, ~175,000 km of water supply, ~100,000 km of sewage and ~120,000 km of heating pipelines – a program the ministry said will strengthen urban resilience and support investment demand.

After US jobs data markedly beat forecasts, President Trump said it would be a mistake if Fed policymakers opted to raise rates and reiterated he does not want to influence Kevin Warsh ahead of Warsh’s first Fed meeting. Trump said markets often falls when data is strong because investors expect Fed tightening, but there is no reason to hike; he called raising the policy rate wrong and said rates should be lowered. He added he respects Warsh but opposes “punishing” a strong economy with higher rates, and flagged debt constraints while saying he seeks further increases in defense spending.
