China has approved registration of 330 special medical foods (foods for special
medical purposes), covering all product categories and age groups and broadly
meeting clinical nutrition needs. Thirty-five clinically urgent products have
been routed into a priority-review green channel to speed approvals and market
entry. One new full‑nutrition oncology formula was registered. Five domestically
produced rare-disease products were approved via the priority channel,
delivering full‑age coverage for phenylketonuria (PKU) and the first domestic
registrations for methylmalonic acidemia (MMA) and propionic acidemia (PA)
products.
