At a regular Foreign Ministry briefing, spokesman Lin Jian responded to
Ukrainian reports that Russia struck a spent nuclear fuel storage facility after
occupying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant, saying China attaches high importance
to nuclear facility safety. He said the ultimate resolution of nuclear safety
risks depends on the prospects for a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis,
that dialogue and negotiations are the only feasible route, and called on all
parties to cool tensions and create conditions to resume talks.
