The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) formally summoned Meiyijia
Holdings' management after regulators and media exposed multiple stores selling
expired food. Acting under law, SAMR ordered the company to comply with the Food
Safety Law and the Provisions on Supervision and Management of Food Sales Chain
Enterprises Implementing Food Safety Main Responsibility; establish
comprehensive risk controls and a full-chain food-safety traceability system
across headquarters, branches and stores; and fully assume food-safety
responsibilities to protect public dietary safety and consumer rights.
