Iranian parliament speaker Ghalibaf said the root of current tensions is
Washington openly breaching a ceasefire — imposing a maritime blockade on the
Iranian people and violating arrangements on the Lebanon ceasefire. He said the
US president's comments on a memorandum of understanding contradict previously
agreed elements, signaling that Washington does not intend to maintain the
ceasefire or pursue dialogue. Ghalibaf warned Tehran must respond decisively to
national rights and said Iran's armed forces have carried out their defense
duties firmly.
